What to Bring to a Meet
Swimmers are encouraged to have their schedule for the meet written (in Sharpie or other marker) on their forearms to help them (and volunteers) make sure they are in the right place at the right time for their events. (See photo example above)
Swimmers are also encouraged to have their first name and age written clearly on their back/shoulder -- this helps volunteer parents from both teams who are working in the bullpen and staging get the correct swimmers to the correct events and lanes. (See photo example below)
Sunscreen will remove the Sharpie markings.
FOR SWIMMERS:
Label all items with swimmer's first and last name!
Swimsuit (team suits are not required, but we encourage swimmers to wear royal blue suits as it’s the team color)
Swim cap (provided by team)
Goggles (maybe an extra pair)
Water shoes (sandals, flip flops, etc)
Bug Spray and/or Sun Screen
Towels (one for sitting on and at least one for drying off)
Sweats or coverups (for cool nights early in season)
Water bottle and snacks
Bag/backpack to keep items in (waterproof bottom if possible)
Money for concession stand
Small games or activities to do while waiting to swim
FOR PARENTS:
Cash for concessions
Cooler (no glass items)
Heat Sheet (these are emailed out before the meet)
Sharpie or permanent marker (for writing events on swimmer's arm)
Caps, hats, sun screen (items to stay cool)
Bug spray
Shoes that can get wet (most of the pool deck gets wet, especially if you are volunteering or sitting poolside)
