Team History

The Gwinnett County Swim League was founded in 1973 with three teams, Hanarry Swim & Racquet Club, Lilburn Lions, and Lawrenceville Recreation Club. In 1974, Hanarry West was the 4th team to join the league and is currently the second oldest team in the league.

In 2024, the Hanarry West Dolphins Swim Team celebrated its 50th season – making it the second oldest team in the Gwinnett County Swim League. With more than 140 swimmers, the launch of the Dolphin Pups program, 11 team records broken, and a 50th anniversary celebration (see photos above), it was a great season for the Dolphins.

The Hanarry West Swim & Tennis Club, a separate non-profit from the swim team, is now accepting members for the 2026 summer season! Join to take advantage of the pool on all the hot summer (and spring and fall) days! Plus, there's pickleball, ATLA tennis, social events year-round, and a pavilion available for rentals.
