Scoring
HOW TEAMS SCORE POINTS:
When we swim teams with 100 or more registered swimmers:
1st place = 7 points, 2nd place = 5 points and 3rd place = 4 points, 4th place = 3 points, 5th place = 2 points, and 6th place = 1 point. In relay events, 1st place = 7 points and 2nd place = 5 points (If not the same team as 1st place).
When we swim teams with less than 100 registered swimmers:
1st place = 5 points, 2nd place = 3 points and 3rd place = 1 point. In relay events, 1st place = 5 points and 2nd place = 3 points (If not the same team as 1st place).
RIBBONS:
Swimmers who finish in first through sixth place receive ribbons with those place numbers (each one is a different color). All other swimmers receive participation ribbons. Ribbons organized and labeled by parent volunteers the night of the meet or the following morning. They are available for swimmers to pick up at Fun Friday practice and are located in the team file box (organized by last name).
HEAT WINNERS:
At some meets, the home team will give beads or candy to heat winners immediately after the race. This is a way to encourage the kids, but doesn't mean that they have won the event. Their ribbon will be based on all the heats combined.
