Hanarry West’s Dolphin Pups program is designed for swimmers ages 4 and up who can’t swim a full lap (25 yards) or swim without a coach in the water or aren’t quite ready for the intensity of an evening, 400+ person swim meet.

This new Hanarry West program is designed to teach children beginning swim skills and strokes – with the goal of preparing them to participate in the sport of competitive swimming and move on to the Dolphin Swim Team. Coached by high schoolers who are members of the swim team, Dolphin Pups will learn swimming techniques, become more comfortable in the water, build up confidence and endurance, and have fun! Our goal is to support and encourage our young swimmers while helping them build the skills required to participate in a Hanarry West Swim Team meet.

*Please note that practices are not rescheduled due to weather or other factors beyond the swim team's control.

FEES:
$200 per session
*$28 Gwinnett County Swim League fee is included
**Registration is non-refundable

ITEMS TO NOTE:

• All swimmers must be potty trained.
• Pups are required to have a parent/guardian on the swim deck during the entire practice.
• Pups must be willing to put their face in the water, as well as listen to and follow coach instructions.
• Once a Pup demonstrates the ability and desire to swim with the competition group, they will be encouraged to move up to the swim team. This decision will be based on the swimmer’s ability to swim a full length of the pool without help, the child’s desire, the coach’s recommendation, and the parents’ judgment.
• Pups will be registered with the Gwinnett County Swim League and pay the $20 nonrefundable league fee. League registration provides insurance coverage and allows the possibility of a swimmer moving up to the swim team during the season.
• Pups do not need a team swimsuit.
• A Dolphin Pup t-shirt is included with registration.
• Dolphin Pups parents are not required to volunteer at swim meets.
• Dolphin Pups do not compete in Thursday evening meets.
• Dolphin Pups are not included in the games or treats on Fun Fridays.
