In 2024, the Hanarry West Dolphins Swim Team celebrated its 50th season – making it the second oldest team in the Gwinnett County Swim League. Our team is made up more than 140 swimmers from surrounding Lilburn neighborhoods, and we also offer a Dolphin Pups program for beginning swimmers. Our team takes pride in being a welcoming and encouraging community for swimmers of all ages and skill levels. We value swimming not just as a sport but also as an important life skill.
Summer swim team is also unique in that it is truly a family sport, where siblings ages 5-18 can be part of the same team. And, parent volunteers are an essential part (and requirement) of each swim meet.
With head coach Eric Brown and assistant head coach Ethan Kruger returning to lead the team, we know there are lots of exciting swims ahead for 2026! Plus, many of the team traditions will continue – Fun Fridays, Swimmer of the Week, Stroke Clinics, ribbons, heat winner prizes, and more.
Check the website Calendar for 2026 season dates, and read through the News section for information about the upcoming season.
Neighborhood Teams
If our team is full or you find that our schedule doesn't work for your family, there are several other great neighborhood swim teams nearby – all a part of the Gwinnett County Swim League. Check out: Hanarry Estates Hurricanes, Parkview Poolcats, Cedar Creek Stingrays, and the Mountain Park Sharks, who practice solely in the evenings. For swimmers who live closer to Stone Mountain, check out Eastmont Cove Olympians, also part of the Gwinnett County Swim League.

About the Hanarry West Swim Team
Started in 1974 and located in Lilburn, the Hanarry West Swim Team is a summer program within the Gwinnett County Swim League, which has 43 teams and more than 6,500 swimmers. Hanarry West averages 130 swimmers each year, welcoming kids of all experience levels from ages 5-18.
Registration begins in February and the season runs from May through June, with meets most often on Thursday nights. The swim season is a fast-paced two month and also a wonderful opportunity for families to engage in a sport together. Hanarry West is a volunteer-led and run organization (only coaches are paid) and the season couldn't happen without parent involvement -- from staffing meets to leading social events to season planning. Summer swim is truly a family sport.
