June 26: More Things for Thursday
The last few days of the season are so busy that we needed two emails!
Hopefully this answers many of the questions we got this morning from parents and swimmers. See you tonight!
1. Rivermist – More Details
MENU: Rivermist says their menu for tonight will include “dinner items like pizza, hot dogs, BBQ sandwiches, baked potatoes, and pot stickers as well as sides, snacks and drinks.”
PARKING: For parking tonight, here are details from Rivermist: “Swimmer families should park in the lot surrounding the tennis courts and pool area first. Then fill the grass lot entering off of Stonelake Trail. Street parking is also available -- please obey signage and make sure to park on only 1 side of the street. Do not park on the grass lot that is before the clubhouse entrance. This is private property.
WEATHER: Let’s prepare for heat and rain! In the worst case scenario, this meet would need to be rescheduled or continued, the League requires that the final meet of the season is completed the following day (Friday).
2. End of Season Awards – More Details
There is no Fun Friday tomorrow morning! There is no practice tomorrow morning! Enjoy a lazy morning if you can, and we will celebrate Friday evening! If for some reason Friday evening is rained out, we will make a reschedule plan earlier in the day (likely for Saturday morning).
PARKING: Please do not park in our lot. It will be reserved for a tennis match and our lead volunteers for the evening (concessions, setup, etc.). Just like a meet, please only park on one side of the street.
3. Coach Gift – Deadline Extended
We have continued to get donations for our coaches after the Tuesday deadline. A good problem to have! Thank you! So, if anyone else would like to contribute a combined cash gift for coaches, please Venmo the team by the start of the meet today (6 p.m.) and note “coach gifts” or you can give cash at the meet to team Treasurer Shayna Olojo.
4. County Meet – RSVP Today
If your family has not RSVPed for the County Meet on our website, please log in to SwimTopia and do that TODAY! Our coaches will begin working on the County Meet entries as soon as tonight’s meet is complete.
If you are wondering where your swimmer ranks in the League standings, the list has been updated this week. The County also sent out a list of “how low did we go” – showing in past years the drop in numbers after athletes select the 3 individual events they would like to swim or declare that they will not be competing.
