HW Dolphins: Three Things for Thursday

1. Volunteer sign-ups open TONIGHT at 8 p.m.

Swim team families are responsible for signing up for their own volunteer shifts. This is done first-come, first-serve beginning at 8 p.m. this evening. Shifts will open for all five of our meets (2 home, 3 away) and our End of Season Celebration.

Steps:
1) Log into your account on SwimTopia. (We highly recommend doing this on a computer instead of a phone.)https://hwdolphins.swimtopia.com/

2) Navigate to the Calendar Page:https://hwdolphins.swimtopia.com/swim_meets

3) Look for the green “Job Signup” button.

Please read through each role description carefully before signing up. Many first shift jobs start at different times – 3 p.m., 4:30 p.m., 5:30 p.m. And other roles require certification or prior experience, and only designated individuals will be able to sign up for those roles. More information about each role is on our website.

Please take our request to sign up for your 4 shifts (5 if you missed a work day) seriously. Our team is completely run by parent volunteers. If you do have questions or issues signing up, you can email Volunteer Coordinator Laura Holder: [email protected]

2. Kids not actively practicing

Please remind your swimmers who aren’t actively a part of practice – even the older ones, even the best behaved ones – not to sit, stand or play at near the edge of the pool. We want our swimmers in the water practicing to have the best experience possible – and that includes not having coaches (or themselves) distracted by kids hanging out nearby.

For our toddlers, there are water tables near the baby pool for use. For older kids, the grassy area is available for hanging out or there are usually several free tables and chairs around the pool deck.

3. Spiritwear pickup

Each swimmer receives a team shirt and swim cap with registration. If you have not picked your family's items, please find a team manager or member of our volunteer team at practice.

And, to everyone – remember to label your swimmers’ shirts!
