June 13: Three Things for Thursday
1. Final Home Meet
Our final home meet of the season is tonight! Warmups begin at 5 p.m. The meet begins sharply at 6 p.m. Swimmers please check in with coaches when you arrive. Volunteers please check in with Volunteer Coordinator Maggie Hammond when you arrive.
Once again we are excited to have a few of our swimmers singing the national anthem – Kate, Lilly and Polly Holder.
2. Practice Safety
Providing a safe and encouraging environment for our 166 Dolphin swimmers is our primary concern. And as we enter the final weeks of the season, we want to remind parents and swimmers of some important safety guidelines.
Any child not actively engaged in practice needs to be out of the main pool, baby pool and away from the edge of the pool. And please remind your children not to talk with coaches while they are actively leading practice. Parents are responsible for children not practicing. Coaches and team leadership will ask children disrupting practice to sit with their parents or leave the pool deck.
Our Dolphin community of parents and kids who enjoy swimming together, cheering together, volunteering together and hanging out at practice together is what makes this team so special to be a part of. There are several spots around the Club for kids to be together that don't disrupt practice -- the grassy area, the water tables, picnic tables, Club house or for older kids the tennis pavilion.
3. Friday’s Stroke Clinic
If your swimmers are still struggling with the sports’ most beautiful stroke – butterfly – there are still spots left for tomorrow’s stroke clinic. RSVP today and bring your kids to the pool at 9 a.m. tomorrow to get more focused instruction on one of the hardest strokes to learn. But they’ll feel so proud when they have mastered it!
