Tonight's meet at Summit Chase

All,

We are looking forward to seeing all our Dolphins for another exciting meet tonight!  Our first away meet in 3 years!  I have included the heat sheet for tonight as well as some information passed along from the other team.  Go Dolphins!

Welcome to the Meet!

The Summit Chase Sharks would like to welcome your team. We are looking forward to a fun and exciting experience for all of our swimmers and families. The following will provide your team some helpful information. We want you to have everything you need for the meet, so please ask questions if we have left anything out.

Our theme this week is Rock and Roll, so please feel free to participate with us!

We will send you heat sheets as soon as we make them. We send them electronically to our team and will not be selling them at the meet. We will make you plenty of copies so that if you need to share a few, you will be able to do so.

Finding the Summit Chase Sharks Pool:

Street Address: 3197 Classic Drive, Snellville, GA 30078

Parking:

The lots between the clubhouse and tennis courts are for visitor parking. Additionally, there is a gravel lot on the far side of the tennis courts where visitors are welcome to park. We ask for no parking in the pull-through in front of the clubhouse, or the alley way on the side of the building.

Arrival/Pool Location:

Once you’ve parked, please proceed to the left side of the building and follow that path down the hill into the swimming pool area. Our meet will be hosted in the lower pool, where you will have access to the team areas.

Team Areas:

The lower level tennis courts directly behind the Summit Chase Sharks pool will be used for the Home and Away Team Area set up. Each team must provide at least two adults to supervise the swimmers area during the meet. We ask that the teams be respectful of the tennis court area, keeping swimmers off of nets, fencing, and walls; and dispose of all trash at the conclusion of the meet. There is to be no running or horseplay on the tennis courts. Food and drinks are not permitted in the team area. We also must insist that no writing (chalk or otherwise) be allowed on the court surface. Please share these directions with your parents and ask them to enforce them strictly. Swimmers who do not follow the rules will have to leave the team area for the remainder of the meet. For safety reasons, if these guidelines are not followed, we will have to address the matter between council members immediately.

Spectator Seating:

The pool deck is available for spectator seating. It will be cleared of all Summit Chase lounge chairs, so we suggest personal chairs, towels and blankets for seating. Our pool is now covered with a permanent structure, so please do not bring tents for the pool deck. The Sharks will occupy the side of the pool closest to the wall. You are welcome to set up on the lake side and shallow/turn end of the pool. Walkway space should be left on the side of the pool and plenty of room for timers, judges, swimmers, and walking space on the turn end.

Staging:

Primary staging will be setup just outside the lower pool gate adjacent to the tennis courts/team area. Swimmers will then be staged on the pool deck. Please make sure your two parent volunteers are present for this position.

Timer/Judges Meetings:

We will host meetings prior to the start of the meet for our timers and judges. In addition, we will host second-half meetings at approximately event 30. We have discovered that this helps to alleviate the late reporting to positions and helps to alleviate some problems we have seen with inconsistent times, etc… when the first meeting is missed.

Concessions:

The Summit Chase Sharks would like to treat your team’s coach(es) to a complimentary meal of their choice from our concession stand. Vouchers for your coach(es) will be delivered in your paperwork packet. The concessions for all meet attendees will have a wide variety of choices. You are also welcome to bring food and coolers. Please refrain from any glass containers.

Inclement Weather:

Summit Chase Country Club has an inclement weather system that tracks lighting strikes and distances. If it becomes necessary to stop the meet for weather, please ask your team to evacuate the pool deck and return to their cars until further notification.
