HW Meet Information - very important

The Sign Up Genius for the Evening Practices is coming out Sunday at 7pm. It is an option to switch to evening practices for 1 week due to an activity that takes place in the morning but leaves you free in the evening. There are very limited spots and once they are full more cannot be added. Those that are regularly evening practice kids do not need to sign up.

Below are the meet details. Please read them carefully. If you are a new family and it all sound confusing, PLEASE DO NOT WORRY! We have lots of experienced parents who will help you.

Meet Details

  • 1st meet is June 3rd, The rest of the meets are June 10, 17, 24 and 28th.
  • Be sure to only park on the pool side of the street. Things to bring: 2 towels per swimmer, googles, an extra pair of googles if you have them, permanent marker, something your kids can do while they wait (cards, My Little Ponies, toys), lawn chair for you, sunscreen, pop up canopy if you choose, cash for concessions.
  • Team parking lot is closed for the Tailgate. Parking by the pool is limited to handicap and coaches. If you have supplies for the concessions, you can drive down to drop it off but then need to park on the street.
  • First session is for 10 year olds and younger. Warm ups start at 5:30pm. Swimmers should be there by 5:00pm for the first meet.
  • Second session is for 11-18 year olds. Warm ups start at 7:30pm. Swimmers should be there by 7:15pm and check-in with a coach.
  • Heat sheets will be emailed out before the meets, if you are interested, please bring a printed copy with you to the meet. Heat sheets will NOT be sold at the meets.
  • Prior to arriving at the meet, please write your swimmers first, last name and age on their back near their shoulder. Write in permanent marker (don’t worry, it comes off with spray sunscreen).
  • When you arrive, swimmers should check in with the check-in coach, check the relay board to confirm if they are swimming relays, and mark their schedule on their arm/leg.
  • Parent volunteers should highlight their name on the volunteer sign-in board.
  • Timers and stroke and turn officials will have a meeting at 5:40 and 7:40 before their shifts.
  • The Dolphin Tailgate is in the parking lot. There will be a sign by the right side of the gate that will tell what event is swimming. If your child is swimming in the event/heats listed you can come onto the parent deck to watch. After your child swims, you can meet them at the cool down (baby) pool. After you have congratulated your swimmer, please return to the Dolphin Tailgate.
  • Concessions will be available either at the left side pool entrance or the Tennis Pavilion. Please support the HW Dolphins by supporting concessions. Please fill out this survey by Tuesday so we can be prepared in concessions https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/LPXZTDG
  • USA Swim is now allowing athletes, judges and timers to not wear masks if they are fully vaccinated - however spectators are still not allowed in the venue. The CDC has announced that outdoor gatherings are safe for fully vaccinated people. As a Swim Board, our primary responsibility is to create a safe and fun environment for our swimmers. Since no swimmers under 16 are fully vaccinated, we have created policies that allow us to HAVE SPECTATORS while keeping our swimmers safe. We will allow 3 heats of spectators onto the parent deck at a time. This will allow for social distancing on the parent deck. Fully vaccinated people may choose to wear or not wear a mask. We ask that unvaccinated people wear a mask when on the pool deck and near swimmers. Swimmers will not be required to wear masks but may choose to if they want. We will be encouraging social distance as much as possible.
  • We need everyone’s help in keeping the area clean. Please make sure your area is clean before you leave for the evening.
  • When your swimmer is done swimming for the evening, it is important to please check the relay board once more to be sure they have not been added to a relay. If they have, please stay or ask to talk to Coach Eric.
  • Most of all - have fun, make friends, and enjoy being together again :)
