Coaches Philosophy on Summer Swim

All Information presented today is subject to change - please be flexible

Practices:

Drop off Procedures - coaches will be at gate on right side to greet athletes

Pickup will be at gate on the left side

Athletes will be assigned to a lane - 4-5 kids per lane

Coaches will be wearing masks if close to kids but may take them off to coach from the side of the pool.

Fun Friday or Saturday - last 20 minutes of practice. Activities will be planned for the kids by Rachel Rennick. Let her know if you have any ideas.

A limited number of spots will be available at evening practices. Swimmer may choose 1 week to switch to evening. Must move for the entire week. The entire season will be released at 1 time and when spots fill there are no others switches allowed.

At this time, parents are not allowed to stay for practice

Coaches now may be in the water but limited

Meets: Virtual Meets all at our pool on Thursday Nights 6/3-6/24 plus 1 Tuesday 6/29

6/3 Flowers Crossing, 6/10 Cedar Creek, 6/17 Rivermist, 6/24 Brightwater Breeze, Tuesday 6/29 Intrasquad Meet

County Championship: July 9, 10, 11th. Mark your calendars!

Session 1: All athletes 10 and Under, Warmup at 5:30, meet begins 6:00, est.end 7:15 (Note 6U and 7-8 swimmers not in Breaststroke or Fly will end earlier)

Session 2: All athletes 11-18, Warmups at 7:30, meet begins at 8:00, est end 9:30

Parking on the Pool side of the street ONLY

Athletes dropped off at the gate on the right side and go to check in coaches

Parents can join the Dolphin Tail Gate in the parking lot

Parking lot will be blocked off. Concessions at the Tennis Pavillion, bring chairs, there will be music and friends. Sign by the gate that tells you when your child is preparing to swim and you can come in to watch. Come in the gate to the right. After they are done swimming they get to go to the cool down pool (baby pool). You can congratulate them there and then leave out the gate on the left. Bathrooms open just tell person at the gate.

Masks are required at all times on pool deck for non- swimmers.

Swimmers will be required to wear a mask when in bullpen.

Swimmers should stay inside gates with team during the meet.

What to bring to a swim meet: Heat sheets (digitally sent out before meet), sharpie markers (Event, Heat, Lane), chairs, water

Big Ask: Please help to keep the trash under control and make sure the Tail Gate area is clean before you leave.

County Championship: July 9, 10, 11th a Georgia Tech

Drinks: To start the season we are only asking for drinks per family not per swimmer. We may need more as the season progresses. Bring drinks based on the 1st letter of your last name.

A-F Gatorade 8 pack of 20oz bottles

G-J Coke 12 pack of regular sized cans

K-N sprite 12 pack regular sized cans

O-S water 24 pack

T-Z Diet Coke or Coke Zero 12 pack regular size cans

Volunteering: Plan to volunteer 3 times per family. Volunteer shifts will be per session

We will send a sign up so that you can decide what and when to volunteer

Bullpen (support coaches)

Concessions (in Tennis Pavilion)

Ribbons (next day or during the Dolphin Tail Gate)

* Lessons - many of the coaches offer lessons. We will put out a list of contact numbers. They charge between $20-$25 for an individual ½ hour lesson. This is not a part of swim team so arrangements should be made with the coach you would like to work with your child. Lessons at HW pool.
